A place to begin again.

At Serenity Community Homes, we believe that a person’s past doesn’t define their future.
We provide safe, fully furnished, and supportive accommodation for people rebuilding their lives after prison, detox, rehab, or homelessness, helping them rediscover confidence, reconnect with loved ones, and regain a sense of purpose.

We’re not just offering a roof over someone’s head. We’re offering the belief that with compassion, structure, and opportunity, anyone can find their way forward.

Learn more about Serenity Community Homes

  • Our mission is simple but deeply personal:
To help people move from crisis to stability, and from survival to independence.

We do this through person-centred support, combining practical help with emotional and social development. Each resident’s plan is tailored to their individual goals and needs, ensuring that recovery is achievable, sustainable, and empowering.

We balance clear structure with personal freedom — offering a stable programme to follow while giving residents the space to grow, reflect, and rebuild their confidence.

  • We support individuals from a wide range of circumstances, including:

    • People leaving prison, needing a safe, structured environment to reintegrate into the community.

    • Those completing rehab or detox, seeking continued support to maintain abstinence and build stability.

    • Individuals experiencing homelessness or relapse who are ready to commit to recovery.

    • Veterans, whom we prioritise with specialist care that respects their experiences and service.

Our homes are small, recovery-focused communities, typically supporting up to six residents, creating a sense of connection without losing personal privacy.

Each resident benefits from their own private, fully furnished room, shared communal spaces, and access to outdoor areas for relaxation and reflection.

  • Our approach is holistic and human. We work closely with probation, veteran services, social care, and healthcare professionals to build strong, individualised support plans. In additon, we provide long-term supported housing for individuals in sustained recovery.

Residents take part in structured activities such as:

    • Health and wellbeing sessions (GP support, exercise, self-esteem, medication management)

    • Recovery programmes with one-to-one sessions, group work, and peer support

    • Life skills and training, including access to education and courses

    • Family reconnection support, helping to rebuild relationships and community ties

We also provide essentials such as clean bedding, toiletries, and food for those arriving with limited means, ensuring every person feels welcomed and cared for from day one.

    • Respect – We see the person, not the past.

    • Compassion – We listen, support, and never judge.

    • Integrity – We act with honesty and transparency in everything we do.

    • Growth – We believe in progress, no matter how small.

    • Community – We build lasting connections and peer relationships that continue beyond our homes.

The challenges we face and why your support matters

Running Serenity Community Homes is deeply rewarding. Every day, we see people rebuild their lives, reconnect with loved ones, and rediscover purpose. But this vital work also comes with challenges that require teamwork, flexibility, and continued community support.

  • Many residents arrive with overlapping challenges such as trauma, mental health issues, substance use, and homelessness. Meeting these needs effectively can stretch our team, especially when external services are under pressure. Donations help us to employ and train more staff, ensuring every person receives the individualised support they deserve.

  • Some residents benefit from specialist trauma therapy or recovery groups located further afield. Additional funding allows us to cover these travel and programme costs, ensuring nobody misses out on essential care.

  • Demand for placements often exceeds availability, limiting how many people we can support at one time. With greater funding, we could extend our reach, offering more safe homes and structured programmes for those waiting for a second chance.

Despite these challenges, our team remains unwavering in its commitment to provide safe, stable, and person-centred care. Through strong community partnerships and a shared belief in recovery, Serenity Community Homes continues to create positive outcomes for individuals and families.

With your support, we can keep turning challenges into chances and houses into homes filled with hope.
